We Is Well Hung!

According to our Mentor Member, Fred Choate, we are “well hung”. He is, of course, referring to the IPG’s new art show in the city hall of Meridian, Idaho. We have 41 paintings by 9 artists shown together. In aggragate; five of these paintings are “plein air – oils”, 32 are studio oil landscape paintings, one is an acrylic landscape, and 3 are watercolor still life’s. This marks a difference from our previous show, which was all oil landscape paintings. We have been prolific enough in the last 3 months to produce all new paintings for this show. I understand there is only minimal repetition from the previous show.
Below is the right side of the Initial Point Gallery, where the paintings of Fred Choate, Craig Arrowood, Ann Samuelsen, Tony Tramp, and Kevin Hughes are shown.
And on the left side of the gallery are the paintings by Rog Lyngaas, Ellen Garrard, Lauri Asahara, and Kathy Earnhart.
All of these paintings are available for purchase; ranging from 150 to 1100 dollars.
If you are unaware, visitation to this gallery is from 8am to 5pm, during the week. It is not open on the weekend. One side of the gallery, is the entrance to the Mayors office. So I guess we could claim that our paintings grace the mayors office. Or maybe we should better say “Meridian’s Mayor has graced our paintings”, which may be more accurate. We are lucky to land a show is such a nice public gallery. Our show will last 5 weeks, till the 28th of August. What is really great about all this is, if anyone needs a time out from visiting the mayor, they can just walk into the gallery next door and chill out and meditate on world peace and the like. Below is an example of the lively discussions available at the gallery.
The grand opening reception for this show will be on Wednesday, July 29th from 11am to 2pm. We will see you there, even if you only came for a deli treat provided by one of our members who is a “Deli Guy”. Enjoy.
